New ABRSM string syllabus - Cello and Double Bass
New Cello syllabus - Summer 2009
The ABRSM are pleased to announce that brand new repertoire lists have been created for the new Cello syllabus, offering both variety and choice to students and teachers. To help bring this music to life, recordings of all pieces on the new syllabus ARE NOW available to buy on CD from Fuller Music in September.
ABRSM have launched "More Time Pieces for Cello" (Volumes 1 & 2), NOW AVAILABLE from Fuller, which contains pieces that feature on the new ABRSM Cello syllabus from Grade 1 right through to Grade 6.
The new 2010 & 2011 Bowed Strings syllabus booklet is available from ABRSM from August 2009, or from Fuller Music with your next order.
New Double Bass syllabus - Summer 2009
A period of extensive consultation with teachers in 2007 formed the first part of an in-depth review of our Double Bass syllabus. The fully updated repertoire lists at each grade are unveiled in the new Bowed Strings syllabus booklet and apply to exams taken in 2010 onwards. Significantly, the List C pieces will now offer a choice of both accompanied and solo pieces. These changes should prove exciting for exam candidates and teachers alike. They have also inspired the publication of two new resources: Time Pieces for Double Bass, Volumes 1 and 2, which notably contain pieces that are listed in the new Double Bass syllabus at Grades 1 to 5.
