Spartan Press buy Fuller Music
Fuller Music has been trading for 20 years as a specialist sheet music supplier, and has, over the years, amassed a client base of 30,000 customers worldwide. During the last week of July, 2008, arguably the largest stock of sheet music for stringed instruments in the UK, (c. 8 tons - 13,000 titles) was 'installed' on the new sales floor at Strathmashie House.
The owners of Fuller Music, Mark and Rosalind Dicken, approached Mark and Pat Goddard at Spartan Press as early as summer 2005. With retirement on the horizon, their aim was to find, within three years, a new home for Fuller that would continue to nurture the business, running it in the same highly efficient yet caring style. Negotiations followed, and after various meetings, meticulous planning, the erection of a new building at Strathmashie (involving over a mile of shelving!) and with the aid of a 17 ton lorry wth a bit of Dicken guts behind the wheel, the deal was finally complete. On 1st August, 2008 Mark and Rosalind sold the entire company: lock, stock, website, trade name, logo, phone number and barrel, to Mark and Pat at Spartan Press.
Mark and Rosalind have known Mark and Pat over many years, in various roles as customer, supplier and of course, as friends. Both couples have so much in common:
The new owners consider it an honour to be bequeathed such a musical legacy and aspire to live up to the legendary service provided during the 'Dicken Era'. Running Fuller side by side with Spartan Press will heighted the "Fuller experience" further:
Mark and Rosalind have pledged their full suppport as 'consultants' during the initial phase of the move.
